Photography at Boathouse 4 Kitchen, Portsmouth
To celebrate the arrival of another solar return (these things really do seem to have a habit of coming around far too quickly for my liking these days), I was fortunate enough to be treated to a spot of festive scran by Debbie.
The destination for the observation of this particular birthday was the delight that is the Boathouse 4 Kitchen.
Tucked away in a corner of the seriously impressive edifice of Boathouse 4 in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, we’d clocked it on a previous recce around the site a few weeks before, and couldn’t wait to try it out!
A seriously imposing space in its own right, it’s packed to the absolute gunnels with clever detailing, such as the inclusion of the building’s signature yellow beams, and too many naval references to count.
But that’s not everything by any stretch of the imagination. The service impeccable, the drinks list extensive, and the food utterly delicious, this supremely relaxed (and relaxing) dining venue has a whole lot to offer.
Did I mention the phenomenal views of the harbour, or the fact that you can tuck into a very upscale take on “Cheesy, Hammy, Eggy”, one of the Navy’s favourite lunchtime treats? Just too lovely for words!
